Buying TikTok coins
app or browser? 2026
The same amount of coins costs a different price depending on where you buy it. The reason is the share app stores take from every purchase made inside an app.
Euro amounts below use a reference coin price for Germany. TikTok prices coins differently per region, so your local amount will differ — the app-versus-browser gap, however, works the same everywhere.
That is around 11 percent of the in-app price. Two coins become one diamond, and fees come off that. Check it in the diamond calculator.

Why the purchase route sets the price
Apple and Google keep about 30 percent of purchases made inside an app. For TikTok that means noticeably less is left from an in-app coin purchase, so the price there is higher. Buy while logged in on tiktok.com in a browser and that share disappears. The balance is the same, it lands in the same account, and you can send gifts with it just the same.
For the creator the purchase route changes nothing — they receive their diamonds either way. The difference stays with you.
About the VPN trick everyone recommends
Plenty of guides suggest buying coins through a VPN in a cheaper country. Prices really are lower there — TikTok adjusts them to local purchasing power. We still do not recommend it: disguising your location breaks TikTok's terms, and in the worst case the account is frozen along with the balance you paid for. For a few euros saved that is a bad trade.
Switching to the browser captures a large part of the difference — without breaking any rule and without risking the account.

Why are TikTok coins cheaper in a browser than in the app?
Apple and Google keep around 30 percent of every purchase made inside an app. TikTok prices that share into its coins. Buy the same coins while logged in on tiktok.com in a browser and it disappears — the balance is identical, the price is not.
How do I buy coins in a browser?
Log in to tiktok.com in a browser and open the coin recharge in your own profile. The coins land in the same account as an in-app purchase — there is no second balance and nothing to transfer.
Is it worth buying coins through a VPN in another country?
We advise against it. Yes, coin prices are lower in some countries. But TikTok's terms forbid disguising your location, and in the worst case the account is frozen along with the balance you paid for. Switching to the browser captures a large part of the saving without putting the account at risk.
How much of my money reaches the creator?
Considerably less than most people assume. Two coins become one diamond for the creator, and fees come off that. Of an in-app purchase the creator keeps roughly 12 to 15 percent of what you paid. Buying in a browser does not move that difference to the creator — you keep it yourself.
Are the prices here binding?
No. They are calculated guide values based on a reference price per coin for Germany, as of 2026-08. TikTok sets prices differently per region and changes them. You only ever see the binding price in the purchase flow itself.
